Business Overview
A premium barbershop concept built to demonstrate how North Studio approaches luxury service businesses — a refined online experience that builds trust, communicates quality and drives bookings.
The Challenge
An outdated online presence, a poor mobile experience and a booking journey too difficult to communicate real craftsmanship or premium quality.
Our Approach
Why we designed it this way
Editorial Restraint
Large serif headlines, generous whitespace and a single bronze accent give the site the confidence of a members' club rather than a barbershop template.
Asymmetric Layouts
Services, Team and Gallery each use a different editorial composition — numbered lists, a featured barber, an adaptive photo grid — so no two pages repeat the same rhythm.
A Real Booking Flow
A five-step wizard — barber, service, date, time, review — with working availability, and either choice preselectable straight from the Team or Services page.
Curated Photography
Every photograph was individually reviewed for relevance and colour consistency, replacing anything that read as generic stock rather than genuine barbershop craft.
Mobile-First Booking
The booking wizard, service rows and team profiles were designed around a thumb first — the desktop layout followed, not the other way round.
Conversion-Led Structure
Every page leads toward one of two calm next steps — book online or get in touch — without ever feeling like a hard sell.
Design Details
The craft behind the surface
Typography
Bodoni Moda gives headlines an editorial, fashion-adjacent confidence; Inter carries body copy and UI with clean, modern legibility.
Colour Palette
Near-black ink and a soft cream base are lifted by a single restrained bronze accent — used deliberately, never decoratively.
Spacing
A generous, consistent spacing scale carries through every page, from the dense pricing list to the wide-open hero.
Layout System
Numbered service rows, a featured-barber split, an adaptive gallery grid and bordered editorial CTA panels replace the repeated card-grid template.
Component Consistency
The same rounded panels, hairline dividers and bronze hover states repeat from the homepage through to the booking confirmation screen.
Animation Philosophy
Framer Motion handles scroll reveals, step transitions and hover states — always subtle, always purposeful, never decorative for its own sake.
Image Treatment
A consistent warm, moody grade unifies photography sourced from different shoots, so the gallery reads as one considered brand story.

Responsive Experience
Designed mobile-first
The booking wizard, numbered service rows and team profiles were all designed mobile-first, since most appointment bookings happen on a phone — the desktop layout is an expansion of that, not a separate design.

Performance & SEO Considerations
Built to be found, built to be fast
Built on Next.js with static generation and Next/Image optimisation throughout. Our Process
How this project came together
Research
Understanding the business, audience, and goals first.
Wireframes
Mapping structure and user flow before any visual design.
Design
Crafting the look, feel, and interactions around the brand.
Development
Building the site to be fast, responsive, and reliable.
Testing
Checking every page, device, and interaction before launch.
Launch
Going live, then staying on to support what comes next.
The Outcome
What the finished site achieves
Designed to increase customer trust before a client ever picks up the phone.
Built to improve booking conversions with a genuinely working, preselectable booking flow.
Structured to showcase craftsmanship through curated, consistently graded photography.
Positioned to create a memorable, premium brand rather than another barbershop template.
Optimised to deliver an excellent mobile experience, since most bookings start on a phone.
Atlas Barber Co. is a fictional barbershop created for this portfolio. It is not a real business, and the booking flow is a fully simulated front-end experience — no real appointments or payments are processed.
